Probationary Instructor in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a probationary appointment in mathematics at the rank of Instructor. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence July 1, 2022. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be welcomed into a supportive and collegial department with a record of teaching excellence. The department has seventeen regular faculty members. Qualifications and responsibilities
Applicants must hold a minimum of MSc in Mathematics and have a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
This is a teaching position and duties will primarily include teaching mathematics courses at the pre-university, first-year and second-year levels, including math content courses for pre-service teachers and math courses for business students. The department seeks an individual who is passionate about teaching and committed to success for students with diverse backgrounds and skill levels, including those who struggle with math, while maintaining high academic standards.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues and students. They will be expected to work collegially with faculty members to contribute to the success of the department, and to participate in Departmental and University service.
