Applications are invited for a two year term position in the area of Statistics / Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, effective January 1, 2021, or as mutually agreed.

Qualifications: A minimum of a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Statistics (preferred), Mathematics, or a closely related area. Relevant experience in undergraduate teaching is required. Experience with online teaching would be an asset.

Teaching responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Statistics and Mathematics, including first- and second-year courses in Statistics and Linear Algebra, with a possibility of teaching higher level courses. Due to COVID-19, some courses may need to be delivered by a synchronous online format.

Research & Service responsibilities: The successful candidate will have an opportunity to apply for internal research funding, to supervise undergraduate honours projects in Mathematics, and to participate on faculty committees, including participating in program development within the department. There is a possibility of graduate student co-supervision and committee service in Brandon University’s applied M.Sc. program. For candidates with a strong background in Statistics or other highly applied areas, there would be a possibility of collaboration with faculty members in a variety of other disciplines.

The Department offers B.Sc. degree programs and B.Sc. (Honours) degree programs with Majors and Minors in both Mathematics and Computer Science.

Rank and Salary: Lecturer or Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
