Postdoctoral research position in discrete mathematics, Ryerson University
Applications are invited for one postdoctoral fellow in discrete mathematics in the Department of Mathematics at Ryerson University (http://math.ryerson.ca/) to begin on September 1, 2020. The research will be led jointly by the members of the Graphs at Ryerson research group, including: Drs. Anthony Bonato, Peter Danziger, Michelle Delcourt, Dejan Delic, Konstantinos Georgiou, and Pawel Pralat. This position provides an opportunity to engage in research in Mathematics, with a limited amount of teaching, and is suited for talented mathematicians who have recently completed their Ph.D. The salary is competitive, with funding provided for a year and with potential for renewal for a second year.
The applicant should have a PhD in Mathematics or Computer Science. The ideal candidate would have expertise in one or more of the areas of interest to the above-mentioned researchers, such as: combinatorial designs, combinatorial optimization, complex networks, discrete algorithms, computational complexity, extremal combinatorics, graph searching, random graphs, relational structures, and structural graph theory. The position is open to candidates of any nationality and selection will be based upon the candidate’s research record and potential. As the applicant will normally teach, some teaching experience is preferred.
