Assistant Professor in Mathematics (Tenure Track)

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Pure Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting July 1, 2023. The position is open to all research fields of Mathematics, but preference will be given to candidates whose research is in Geometry or Topology, and complements existing research strength in our department. Appointment is conditional upon completion of a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in Mathematics and develop an independent research program, attract and maintain external funding in Mathematics, supervise undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, teach a regular load of undergraduate and graduate courses in the department each year, and participate in public service and administrative duties.

All candidates will be assessed on their research excellence and potential to develop an independent and externally funded research program, teaching experience and willingness to develop teaching skills. Candidates will be expected to supervise both undergraduate and graduate students, and share a commitment to departmental and university service work.
