The Canadian Mathematical Society is pleased to announce the introduction of a new Fellows Program.  The Inaugural Class of Fellows consists of 49 members from the Canadian mathematical community. The Inaugural Class of Fellows will be recognized at the CMS Winter Meeting Banquet, Sheraton Wall Centre, Vancouver, December 9, 2018.

OTTAWA, ON — The Canadian Mathematical Society, (CMS) is pleased to announce that the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC), is the recipient of the 2018 Adrien Pouliot Award.  Professor Ian VanderBurgh will accept the award on behalf of the CEMC at the CMS Winter Meeting in Vancouver, BC, December 7-10, 2018 .

OTTAWA, ON -  The Canadian Mathematical Society is pleased to announce that Dr. Keith Taylor (Dalhousie) has been named the recipient of the 2018 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service.  Dr. Taylor will receive his award at the CMS Winter meeting in Vancouver, BC December 7-10, 2018. 

OTTAWA – Math Team Canada 2018 returns from the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Cluj, Romania with five Silver medals and one Bronze medal. The six team members competed separately, answering six grueling questions in a competition lasting two days, four and a half hours each day.  More than 600 high school students wrote the 2018 IMO.
